EID-UL-FITR : FESTIVAL OF PEACE AND COLOURS

In this festival season of sacred Eid-ul-fitr let us take a stroll around old Hyderabad on the surrounding of famous Charminar. You will find the area is over crowded with people trying to buy colourful bangles." Just look once, you need not pay to see" the words came from one enthusiastic seller. You look around, it is colour everywhere.May it be bangles or colourful 'churni' or it may be road side food plaza offering mouthwatering hot delicious "haleem",'phirni' or 'sewain'. People throng for purchase of pleasantries for their near and dear one, may it be colourful 'salwar' for daughter or a pair of shoe for the youngest son. Serially plates of fruits and sweets are seen in road side stalls inviting people to break their fast after day long 'roja'.
The same scene can be seen in streets of Lucknow like Akbar Ali road where ladies are seen trying new dress material inside trial room of clothes store, poor or rich whoever may be are entering in shop as per the their own choice and capacity to spend. It is seen in the commercial street of Bangalore, where generally rich and high net worth people are seen making beeline for purchasing gifts of their choice. Glittering malls and big stores are offering fabulous discounts to their customers and one cannot move properly inside commercial street due to crow of bumper to bumper Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Some smaller sedans are seen between the lines driven by people like us who cannot afford to buy all that glitters there.
Now let us leave commercial street and move to other places like Frazer Town ,Cox Town and Mosque road. Everywhere the picture is more or less same. Men are seen draped in designer scalp caps and ladies with most colourful 'hijab' of their choice. If we move to Shivajinagar, infantry road and adjoining area we will see mosques are decorated with colourful lights and after evening prayers maulavis are reading verses from holy Quran through audio system.
In the large mosque of Banerghatta Road a Mela type food festival has started from this year. With ample parking space this year Government has shifted the old food court of Fraser Town at this venue  and people seem to be more happy.
If we move to Calcutta or Kolkata as you say you must visit the Mosque of Tipu Sultan. All small food outlets are seen selling different kind Bengali foods in the afternoon and people are busy in taking mouthwatering food after breaking their fast. Opposite side of the road old famous Muhammad Ali &Sons is busy in making delivery of best dress materials to aristocrats of the city of joy. Nearby New Market is glittering with lights all over and people are seen bargaining at their best for the dress materials of their choice. Same picture will be seen more or less in Jama Masjid area of New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and many small tier two cities. Most interesting of all, these food court and small outlets are open up to 1 a. m. daily to cater the needs of customers in the season of colourful id-ul-fitr. HAPPY EID-UL-FITR TO ALL!!!!!!!

INEVITABLE BR-EXIT : WHAT NEXT ?

The inevitable has happened. In view of watchful eyes of entire globe  Britons have given  their  verdict towards the referendum that was most sought for by the government of UK to ascertain the future of the country. The exit from EU ( European Union) was written on the wall actually many years back. Let us go back to the history of  Europe from 20th century . The entire Europe was is economic doldrums after great  World War II and each of west European country was at their  nadir economically. The infamous 'Gold Rush' has happen at Great Britain followed by deflation in economy had crippled them so as other large countries like France, divided West Germany, Belgium, Italy etc. On the contrary United States of America was gradually becoming super power. On that juncture in the year 1951, USA lead by Freddy Truman offered an economic bailout  package for entire war laden Europe. But countries like West Germany, France, Italy etc feared of American supremacy over them so also of Great Britain, as Britain was always believed to be a close ally of USA.So, they denied the bailout package and instead six countries of Western Europe (West Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands,Luxembourg and Belgium) formed an allies group for a common economic zone to run their heavy industries, coal and steel under a common management where UK was not made a party. Building on the success of coal and steel treaty, these six nations expanded co operation to other economic sectors This happened in 25th March 1957 they signed at treaty in Rome under the banner of EEC( European Economic Community). Great Britain ultimately understood the benefit of the common economic zone and they wished to be a member of this cluster in 1963.
But, the then president of France Charles de Gaulle was against the proposal of inclusion of Britain in EEC and thus due to his continuous veto over this , Britain could never get membership in EEC till his tenure lasted up to 1969 and ultimately Britain was inducted in EEC during 1973 only.
After that many more member countries have been included but UK was always treated differently probably due to its different language, culture, social customs etc from other countries of Europe. One may notice all other languages commonly spoken in European countries have some similarity. Spanish and French is almost spoken all over the continent other then UK.. So, I mean to say that Britain has an economy strong enough to tackle in situations, it has a strong currency ( separate from EU)and different cultural base. Moreover, after unification Germany in 1990, its economy became stronger and all members of EEC felt that a common boundary may be formed between member countries and as such they signed a treaty at Amsterdam  in 1992 called the 'Maastricht Treaty'where it was decided to have one common VISA for all member countries where UK opposed the proposal and did not sign the treaty.
In 1995, all member countries decided to dispense with their separate currencies and come under a stronger currency common to all and thus from 1st July 1999 entire group of EEC came under common name of  European Union (EU) and started the new common currency named EURO, and Britain defied to join with common currency, since they believed that they have a strong currency  of their own in international market.
Moreover, most recent exodus in west Asian countries towards Europe also contributed towards the fear among Britons that they may become minority in their own country in near future, if they are to accept the share of refugees divided among EU countries (already Britain had accommodated influx of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladesh in large numbers)
Under this scenario, it is very much expected by many of international community that the tendency of Great Britain will not allow them to remain with EU and today or tomorrow it had to happen. Great Britain has made its formal EXIT from EU and start its economy a new independently.
The market in the globe has melted down aftermath of BR-EXIT  will be temporary for few days and economy will bounce back in its original position within few days.
The ultimate question remain unanswered that how Britain will take up the severe bite when all economic activities of EU member counties will cease slowly from Britain and large scale business headquarters of those EU member countries gradually withdraw their base from UK? The burn will be severe and it will take long time for Great Britain to overcome the hurdles.
