Many many years passed, hundred thousand qusec of water passed in umsirpi and umkhrah, the virtual world has reached inside every room of tribals (#KSU and #FKJGP ) probably people are literate at per with main land of country and abroad, yet the atrocities on innocent nontribals have not come into an end in Meghalaya. We are living in second decade of 21st century and we all forgotten the scars of infamous racial fight in penultimate decade of last century. But the devil still rules !
During my school days one my teacher explained to us the difference between literacy and education. One person may be literate but not necessarily he/she may be educated.This explanation suits to a group
of tribals in my home state.
What is the remady for this ? Government machinary is silent spectator and is dancing doll to the tune of these organisations who claim as NGO. Actually, no tribals are buffer between Government and those people.
Politicians are injecting venom to this anti non-tribal groups to derive political gain.
But, ultimately, how many non tribals will stay in this state ? Younger generation are deprived of government job since the inception of statehood, so boys and girls are going out of this state every year. Only a handful of elderly people are waiting for their retirement and to settle elsewhere. So, who are the non tribals ? Only a few small traders and some large traders who are doing business from generation and have valid trade licence.
Therefore, for them, livelihood has become a menance day by day. Moreover, if these type of hooliganism continue the tourism of the state will get the burn. Tata can afford to continue with near empty hotel for long time but there is also a limit. They may think to leave like that happened in West Bengal during 2006.
Marriot will think twice to come. But what about small business class ? They cannot afford to loose business for this type of unpleasant situations. Government must think on this
Now, my suggestion to non-tribals. They must learn to retaliate. When, there is near zero invesgation and punishment from guardians of law for innumerable occassions in past, they have to learn to save their life and assets.The duties of CPC and Bengalee Students Organization not only doing poojas and distribution of foods to have not, but they should act as a gurdian of their community for all walks of life.
Only sharing graviances in and news in WhatsApp will not fulfil any purpose. Some strong decesion must be taken by leader group.
They should take the matter to central government with a request to outlaw and ban all such organisation. Even all such incidents since last four decades may be recorded inseratim to central government and demand to withdraw Art 371 from the state, to enable nontribals to lead a better life.
